About CargoTown
CargoTown is a reference for shipping container developments, container parks, and cargo architecture — the homes, studios, and structures built inside steel boxes, and everything it takes to put one on the ground.
What This Site Covers
CargoTown is part of the WholeTech Network — a collection of 110+ websites covering technology, real estate, sustainability, entertainment, arts, community, and more. Each site focuses on a specific topic and serves as a resource for people interested in that subject. Here, that subject is container home architecture: sizes and sourcing, foundations, insulation, costs, floor plans, zoning, and real-world builds.
Our Approach
Every page on this site is built to be useful, honest, and free from clutter. No pop-ups. No paywalls. No auto-playing videos. Just clear information presented well. We believe the web should be helpful, not annoying.
Who Runs This
The WholeTech Network is built and maintained from Austin, Texas, by a team that has been making websites since 1996 — starting with the spring.com BBS, one of Austin's first online communities. Today the network spans 110+ sites across 104 domains, all running on a single server.
